1. Types Of Care Offered

Initial Care: RELIEF & CORRECTION

The initial stage of care is referred to as Relief or Acute Phase. This phase is designed to reduce and eliminate the discomfort and pain in which the patient presents with. During this phase of care adjustments may need to be scheduled closer together to progressively see improvement. 

Rehabilitative Care: STRENGTHENING THE SPINE 

Rehabilitative Care as the name implies is based around strengthening muscles and tissues around the injured site to help stabilise and maintain adequate movement and function of the dysfunctional joints and/or tissues. As your body is now moving and functioning more appropriately and no longer under constant stress and strain, adjustments are no longer as frequent. 

Maintenance & Wellness Care: MAINTAINING & OPTIMISING WELLBEING

At LiveWell Family Chiropractic we aim to get all of our patietnts to this stage of care. This phase of care helps to maintain your improved health and spinal function, and prevent the return of the pain in which you may have presented with. Preventative care can help address issues as they arise by ‘nipping them in the bud’ before they become more serious.Wellness care, consisting of a sensible plan of chiropractic adjustments, exercise, a sensible diet and positive mental outlook will help you enjoy your best health.

 

2. What to Expect

Initial Consultation (45mins):

This visit involves completing an in depth health history questionnaire which provides a description of why you have presented to the practice. After discussing your health concerns and goals, your Chiropractor will go through a thorough Chiropractic, postural, neurological and orthopaedic examination/assessment. Based on your findings, and provided there are no contraindications to Chiropractic treatment, care will commence.

On the occasion that further images or services, such as x-rays, MRI or ultrasound be required before care commences, your Chiropractor will organise a referral for you to a local radiographer.

Second visit/ Report of Findings (30mins):

During this visit your Chiropractor will go through your findings from your initial/first visit and propose the most appropriate action plan for you to restore and return to your best health. If imaging was identified to be necessary from the initial consultation your Chiropractor will go over these and discuss what is shown.

Standard/Regular visit:

Please allow 15-20 minutes for all standard visits. These visits involve a full Chiropractic examination and joint function testing to identify how well your body has adjusted from the previous visit. During these visits your Chiropractor will also go over exercises and rehabilitation movements necessary to get you back to your best.

 

3. Private Health Rebates

Yes. Private health rebates are available on the spot at the practice with most major providers if Chiropractic Extras is part of your policy. Please contact your health insurer prior to your initial appointment.We also accept Medicare EPC plan referrals from your General Practitioner. A referral however is required.
